to me, being realistic is an active practicing of a kind of stoicism: meaning, no expectations of either kind, either for good things nor bad. just doing and living to the fullest, by the minute. so being realistic: shedding of both optimism and pessimism. do i practice it? no way. i'm a drinker.
but all this is a prelude to this question: why do you wonder in the first place?
