i am really really really out of wits on how to make my cat shut up at night. Hobbes keeps meowing and meowing constantly and it's driving me insane! have tried saying "SHHHH", clamping his mouth shut with my fingers, slapping his ass and even using a water gun but he's still meowing away... i suspect he thinks we're playing a game with him coz he'll run to the kitchen on the other side of the apartment, and after 10 minutes hurl himself into the bedroom door and starting meowing again. i don't remmeber *how* many times peter and i had to get up to try and shut him up but it's definitely north of 10 times
ugh. really don't know what can mellow him out.. any ideas / suggestions much appreciated

one word: DRUGS
he needs to be trained that night time is the time to sleep. try playing with him before bedtime - play with him for 15-20 minutes to tire him out. another thing is if you catch him sleeping all the time during the day, you should try to keep him active - give him a toy or whatever so that he saves as much sleep as he can until the night time.
my cat sleeps with us on our bed at night - we're still trying to work on sleeping in part. just can't do it with a pet!
He's meowing so much because you have someone else sleeping over. LOL
BFK might have a point there. I was going to do an entry about mom and the trip over, but just the thought of it was pissing me off. Serenity now. Do they make muzzles for cats?
reminds me back in da day in uk. late one sat nite round mates and we decided to give his kitten blow backs with da weed...so funny watching her lose all balance....worth a try, non?
Caramilk tastes eactly as it sounds. it's basically solid millk chocolate filled with creamy soft caramel. really yummy.. gunks up your mouth, gets a bit messy, but overall very satisfying. Hobbes would definitely dig it.
