Saw good bye, lenin! with steve and audrey yesterday (skiiving work)

it's done by the same director who filmed Run Lola Run ... when history-making events happen (such as the unification of east/west germany in Lenin!), most outsiders only get a bird's eye view of the incident.  To me, it's always a lot more interesting to hear the story as told by the individual.  makes the whole experience a lot more human and impactful.

    go watch it!  it's good

  • i'm sick!  :(

    [cough]

what i'm staring at right now

i got audrey and myself one little devil toy each for her birthday.  now we're the dare-evil twins . wahahahhahaha

i need to get myself a glass of water and crawl back to bed

    [cough cough]

A broken heart is like a badly grazed shin.  Scabs grow as the wound heals but it itches and you can never resist picking at the scabs.  that is, unless you have massive self control (which i def. don't have)

so i keep picking at the scabs and a piece falls off everytime, ripping some skin off with it, re-exposing the raw wound to the world.  and i start bleeding again

i wonder, does this mean i'll get a permanent scar if i don't stop?  please stop itching!

  • fresh air (yay)

went hiking on sunday on Lantau Island (where the Big Buddha is).  was all ready to set off at 11 am only to find that my friends couldn't get their act together (ahem) so we ended up boarding the ferry at 2.

in all honesty it wasn't that difficult of a hike... and i thought i was in good shape after 3 months of body combat.  that is, until i started wheezing 1/2 way into the track ....

    here's a view from the middle-of-nowhere-on-lantau.

gorgeous eh?  most people who live here don't even know that you can avoid sky scrapers in HK!!

the boyz: "what's it gonna be girls, left or right?"

the girlz: "anywhere but up this stupid hill"

    =========================================

the reward came at the end of the track when we sat down at stoep and FEASTED.  oh yes i mean feasted.  3 loafs of bread with dips 2 salads 4 mixed grills 1 grilled salmon 1 shepard's pie 2 jugs of Tsing Tao shared among 5 people (ok this is the part where you go, you ate what???  )

    excellent effort everyone

  • La Fontainne

one thing about living in an expat flooded city like HK is ... people arrive and leave all the time.  so you spend all this time developing a friendship with someone and two years later they leave (or you leave) and you never hear from them again... which is sad but keeping in touch via sporatic emails is just not the same as grabbing someone for breaks any time, cracking instant jokes with them over Sametime (chat program), or throwing soft toys at them over the cubicle when you need to vent.

and you wonder why my circle of friends changes constantly

(wonder how many of us will still be around this time next year)

  • current mood - ??

saturday - photography class (studio session) will upload pictures as soon as i get them from craig.  for those who are interested in taking photography lessons in HK, check out craig's site .... the course is pretty compact and covers the basics of photography - not too much not too little i felt.  i had a ton plus got to know some pretty cool peeps too

most people freeze up in front of the camera so part of being a photographer is also learning to get ppl to relax ... cracking silly jokes usually works for me but when all else fails, a vodka shot or two usually work wonders.   heee

my last photography session!  will miss these people ...

  • perfect fit

    the T-shirt, that is

thank god you don't eat pork for thanksgiving

    you like??

a- thanks for the pressie ... l - thanks for spotting this out

    *smooch*

  • schmile!  :o )

thanks astroanne - you always know the right thing to say at the right time

    you too, ln

    xoxo

    *****************************************************

to keep myself distracted i signed up for a photography course last week.  i've always loved taking photos so this was a real treat   unfortunately everything was taken on slide film (i feel like a real pro now!) so y'all have to wait till i get them scanned in.

last sunday's field trip started at 630am and was full of adventures: TST (HK harbour) - i missed this part ... surprise surprise -> Botanical gardens (big big gorrilas) -> Hollywood road wet market (almost got a deadfish thrown at me by an angry shopkeeper ) -> Lang Kwai Fong (my own side trip) -> the Peak

this week we'll be doing a studio session!  yay

  • breathe stella, breathe

thanks for your support & encouragement... i am trying to pull myself together

Today, we broke up on mutual agreement

  • last night, he came out of the bar to say good bye before i left

for a few moments time stoood still.  it was just him and me, suspended above the neon lights the noise the people and the chaos of LKF

i was sad.  he drapped his arm around my shoulder and asked, "what's wrong"

i told him "i don't feel like we are in a relationship anymore....  i feel so distant from you"

he bowed his head, thought about this for a while and replied "let's talk about this tomorrow"
